BLOOMINGTON – Twin Cities homes sales continued an upward trend in April.
Sales are up 13.9 percent year-to-date compared to the same time in 2014. Association of Realtors President Amanda Wycoff said sales have increased each month.
“We have 551 homes currently pending in our market,” said Wycoff. “No wonder the realtors are so busy right now; buyers are out working and the overall temperature of the market is ‘hot’ here in Bloomington-Normal.”
Resale homes are up 10.4 percent. New construction home sales are up 66.7 percent. After a rough 2014, Wycoff was pleased to see new construction having resurgence.
“That’s just absolutely fantastic,” said Wycoff. “When a local home sells $28,000 is put into our local economy, but when a new construction sells that puts $82,000 into our local economy.”
Wycoff added consumer confidence is rising and she expects May to be another good month.
