Visitation, funeral set for Normal firefighter

NORMAL – Visitation is set for a Normal firefighter who has died Saturday at the age of 44.

Visitation for Rob Aper is Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, 1800 Eastland Dr. in Bloomington. The funeral is Thursday at 10 a.m. at Eastview Christian Church, 1500 Airport Dr. in Normal.

Aper became a Normal firefighter in Dec. 1997. Matt Swaney, spokesman for the Normal Fire Department, said Aper died Saturday of complications from a recent surgery.
