CHICAGO – Gov. Bruce Rauner was involved in a car crash on Wednesday.

It happened in downtown Chicago. The governor was in a motorcade in his vehicle with his state police security detail, stopped at a red light, when a crash involving two other vehicles happened directly in front of them, according to state police.

One of those cars spun and struck the governor’s car. Neither the governor nor anybody else in his entourage was injured, but the governor’s car did sustain damage.

Three other people were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Chicago police are investigating the crash.

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
