FRISCO – Tailgating has been a big event in Normal for ISU football home games, but tailgating in Frisco is expected to be a huge event for ISU fans.

ISU Deputy Director of Athletics Aaron Leetch says the team will come through the tailgate area at 9-45 Saturday morning.  He says the team will walk through the tailgating area followed by a pep rally.  The Cheerleaders, the band, and comments from Athletic Director Larry Lyons and President Dietz will be included.

"There are watch parties all across this country," says Leetch. "Alums are stepping up, they are taking note, they have taken interest in what has happened here. There were watch  parties that were scheduled and then there were watch parties that popped up that I had no idea about."

There are an estimated 1500 ISU alums in the Dallas and Frisco areas.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
