One person killed in Interstate 55 crash near Lexington

LEXINGTON – A suburban Chicago resident was killed in a crash near Lexington on Thursday morning.

The crash at about 9 a.m. involved a sport utility vehicle and a semitrailer on Interstate 55 about two miles south of Lexigton.

According to the McLean County Coroner's office, the victim was pronounced dead at 9:48 a.m. The victim was a Northlake resident. Their name has not been released. Results of an autopsy are pending.

Interstate traffic was rerouted for several hours as crews cleared the scene.
