BLOOMINGTON – A Pontiac police officer faces felony obstruction of justice charges in McLean County Court following a wreck on route 24 near Chenoa in 2013.
Daron Bagnell says a deer jumped out in front of a motorcycle driven by former Clinton Police Officer Timothy Dunn. State Police are claiming the deer story was a lie in order to prevent possible drunken driving charges. Dunn has taken a plea deal in the case.
Bagnell claims a deer jumped out in front of the motorcycles, but investigators say no evidence of the deer was found at the scene.
Bagnell is a 17 year veteran of the Pontiac Police force.
