CHICAGO – People are still flocking out of Illinois.
According to a migration study conducted by United Van Lines, nearly 6,300 people packed their bags and moved to another state in 2014. Just over 36-hundred moved into Illinois. That puts Illinois as the third state in the nation for outbound moves.
Republican lawmakers have said the state's poor financial condition is forcing people out because it's led to high taxes and high unemployment.
GOP Governor-elect Bruce Rauner has promised to turn things around. He'll be sworn in on Jan. 12.
