BLOOMINGTON – 2015 is just a few days away and with it comes one of the biggest party nights of the year: New Year’s Eve.
McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage wanted to make sure citizens are safe while bringing in the New Year. Sandage told WJBC deputies will be on high alert Wednesday night.
"Our deputies look at arresting somebody for DUI, they look at that as they're saving a life," said Sandage. "That's important to us, that we're getting those folks off the roadways."
Sandage said many residents do not realize how they're sense are effected while drinking.
"As cheap as cabs are and as accessible as they are, especially in the Twin cities, there's really no excuse," he said.
Sandage asked residents to be responsible on New Year’s Eve.
