BLOOMINGTON – Bellringers have collected $140,000 so far this year to aid Bloomington Salvation Army services throughout the year.
The goal for the annual campaign is $230,000.
'We definitely have a way to go," Salvation Army Development Director Angie Fulton said.
She added the campaign helps fund the charity's operations throughout the year, including its food pantry which has distributed more food than ever before this year.
"They say this is the highest number of food baskets they've ever given out," Fulton said. "We have a great community of schools that have done food drives for us."
The Salvation Army is looking for more bell ringers. Volunteers can sign up at www.ringbells.org.
