Newson pleads not guilty to murder

BLOOMINGTON – A murder suspect from Normal has pleaded not guilty.

48-year-old Tracy Newson is accused of shooting 47-year-old Carlton Jordan of Bloomington on Nov. 16. The McLean County State's Attorney's office says they believe Newson shot Jordan after an argument regarding Newson's advances towards Jordan's significant other.

Bloomington Police say they found Jordan's body dead outside of his apartment at 703 Turnberry Drive.

Newson is being held on $4 million bond.
