LINCOLN – Get ready for a snow event this weekend.

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Winter Storm Watch for McLean County and much of Central Illinois from Saturday evening to Sunday evening.

NWS said snow will develop over the area Saturday night and continue through Sunday evening.

Most areas in central Illinois will see 5-8 inches of snow Saturday and Sunday, but some areas, including Livingston and LaSalle counties, could see up to 10 inches.
Winds are expected to gust up to 25 miles per hour Sunday afternoon and evening.

The weather service said it's likely driving conditions will be hazardous starting Saturday night, due in part to high winds causing blowing and drifint snow.

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
