DOWNS, Ill. (WMBD) — One person is dead after a two vehicle crash near Downs in McLean County on Saturday.
The crash happened on U.S. Route 150 at Cedar Street at about 3:25 p.m., according to preliminary information from the Illinois State Police.
The report said one car traveling eastbound on Route 150 hit another vehicle heading westbound. The driver of the westbound vehicle died.
Troopers said the driver of the other vehicle tried to leave the scene but was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment.
Part of Route 150 was closed while the crash was investigated.
