NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — The Connect Transit Board of Trustees confirmed former Vice Chair Julie Hile to fill the seat vacated with the loss of Chairman Ryan Whitehouse.
A statement from the agency said the body is committed to moving ahead in the spirit of his commitment to its mission of providing access to opportunity for the community.
“The Board of Trustees are aligned with and committed to fulfilling Connect Transit’s mission. We believe we owe it to Ryan’s memory to provide consistency and leadership in our community,” said new Board Chair, Julie Hile.
Hile is President and Senior Principle of the Hile Group and a partner in Hile-Broad Properties.
“We welcome Julie as our new Board Chair and look forward to her continued and consistent leadership of our organization,” said David Braun, Connect Transit’s Managing Director.
“Connect Transit continues to feel Ryan’s loss, and we are comforted knowing his work will live on through the people and purpose he inspired,” Braun said. “With Ms. Hile leading the Board of Trustees, the organization looks ahead with optimism and unity, carrying forward the same dedication that has long guided our mission.”
