NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — Some streets in Normal will be closed starting Monday for Illinois State University’s Homecoming.
From 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, ISU President Aondover Tarhule and Normal Mayor Chris Koos will kick off Homecoming, said Normal Civic Arts Manager Adam Fox.
The event will include the annual tree-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. in Uptown Circle. Before the lighting, there will be games, giveaways and entertainment from the Big Red Marching Machine and Red Bird Cheer.
Fox said the following streets will have No Parking signs starting at 2 p.m. and will close at 4 p.m. on Monday:
- Uptown Circle and all vehicular access points
- Constitution Boulevard
- North Street, from Beaufort Street intersection to Uptown Circle
