PEKIN, Ill. (WMBD) — A Livingston County man was arrested in Pekin for alleged child pornography cases.
Dane T. Barr, 30, of Dwight was arrested on a charge of possession and dissemination of child pornography, Tazewell County Sheriff Jeff Lower said.
On Oct. 7, deputies with the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop in Pekin, where Barr was arrested and taken to the Tazewell County Jail, he said.
Police allegedly found approximately 50 photos and videos that showed child porn, the county’s top lawman said.
“The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to investigating crimes that exploit children and to work closely with local, state, and federal investigators to hold offenders accountable,” he said.
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office worked with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
As of Wednesday afternoon, he remained in jail.
