NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — A man was arrested in connection with an apparent robbery at a Dollar General store.
Calvin Jones, 55, of Normal, was arrested on charges of robbery, aggravated robbery, and burglary. He’s accused of being in the store with a handgun.
Details were sparse, but according to police spokesman Brad Park, officers with the Normal Police Department were called on Sept. 2 to the 600 block of West Raab Road to a report of a man inside the Dollar General with a gun.
The man had run away before the police got there. After an investigation, Jones was identified as a person of interest and was subsequently arrested four days later on Sept. 6 and taken to the McLean County Jail, Park said.
He remained in jail as of late Monday morning. It is not clear if he has been formally charged yet or when he will appear in court.
