BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A Bloomington Fire Department captain finished his last shift Wednesday after more than two decades of service, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.
Capt. Jason Anglin hung up the gear one final time after 22 years of service.
“Jason is a well-respected and well-liked person and firefighter/EMT. Jason served on numerous committees and was an advocate for his brothers and sisters, serving on the negotiating committee for Local 49,” the post said.
While his knowledge and skills “made him an asset,” the post said his greatest contribution was “as a mentor, guiding and inspiring many over the years.”
The post also shared many of the photos of the retired captain that had been taken of the course of his career.
“He has been one of the most photographed members I can remember. Here is a mix of serious and funny pictures of him throughout his career,” the post said.
