BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A Bloomington man arrested for traveling to meet a minor and solicitation of a child has died while on pretrial release.
58-year-old Thad E. Olson was arrested on Aug. 22 in Macon County along with four other individuals involved in a human trafficking demand suppression operation carried out by the Illinois State Police.
McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder confirmed Olson’s death with WMBD on Tuesday morning. She declined to share any further information as it is an active investigation. Olson was released on pre-trial on Aug. 25 and died soon after his release.
Olson was a physical education teacher at Eisenhower High School in Decatur. No further information is available at this time as this is a developing story.
