NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — A Normal man will spend sixty years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he was sentenced for several child pornography charges.
Scott T. Johnson, 26, was sentenced more than two years after he was arrested, according to Normal Police Chief Steve Petrilli.
He said on January 25, 2023, Johnson was arrested on a McLean County arrest warrant for possession of child pornography and indecent solicitation of a minor.
A detective assigned to the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began investigating alleged child sexual abuse material in May 2020, Petrilli said. This investigation led to the identification of Johnson and a search warrant was issued.
During the search, multiple electronic items were seized from Johnson, and it was determined that they did contain child sexual abuse material.
