NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — Gov. JB Pritzker announced a new Illinois State Board of Trustee member following the resignation of Trustee Scott Jenkins.
On Monday, Pritzker announced he was appointing Archer Daniels Midland’s President of Sustainable Materials and Strategic Initiatives, Kris Lutt, to fill the vacant seat after Jenkins stepped down on Friday, July 25, for personal reasons, said ISU spokesman Chris Coplan.
ISU president Aondover Tarhoule said the school is honored to welcome Kris to the board.
“He exemplifies the kind of success and service we hope to inspire in all Redbirds. His personal journey—from student to global executive—reflects the transformative power of an Illinois State education. We look forward to the insight, integrity, and innovation he will bring to our Board,” Tarhoule said.
At ADM, Lutt has been responsible for the growth of strategy in key areas such as defossilization, decarbonization, and BioSolutions, Coplan said.
Lutt also serves as a board member for Heart of Illinois Community Foundation is an active member of the community, Coplan said.
He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from Illinois State.
