BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A Bloomington man is in custody after police responded to shots fired early Wednesday morning.
Joshua Glass, 36, was arrested on charges including reckless discharge of a firearm, felon in possession of a weapon, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
At 2:22 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, Bloomington police officers went to the 1400 block of Sheridan Street, said police spokesperson Bryce Janssen.
Then he said a caller reported seeing someone fire a gun multiple times before running into a nearby home.
He said officers arrived and contacted the residents, who exited the home. One of them was identified as the person the caller had seen firing the gun.
Janssen said officers found spent cartridge casings outside, confirming a shots-fired incident had occurred.
A search warrant was obtained to continue the investigation, and officers found and seized two handguns from inside the residence.
He said there were no reported injuries or property damage, but the investigation led to the Glass’s arrest.
The incident is still being investigated by the Bloomington Police Department. Anyone with additional information should contact Detective Ken Nowatski at (309) 434-2578 or Knowatski@cityblm.org.
