BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A church building remains unstable after the roof collapsed late Wednesday night.
City of Bloomington crews were called at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, to the 400 block of East Mullberry Street to block off the road after the Reconcile Church’s roof collapsed, said Katherine Murphy, a city of Bloomington spokeswoman.
She said crews remained on scene until early Thursday morning, and bricks could be heard falling all the way up until 5:30 a.m.
As of Thursday morning, the barricades remain in place, she said.
No one was injured and officials are actively monitoring the situation, she said.
