Multi-vehicle crash on Murray Baker Bridge results in injuries

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The Illinois State Police said people were injured after a multi-vehicle crash on the Murray Baker Bridge on Thursday.

The crash occurred at 1:32 p.m. in an eastbound lane of the bridge, which carries Interstate 74 over the Illinois River, said ISP spokesperson Jayme Bufford. One lane of traffic was shut down due to the crash, but reopened at 2:25 p.m.

Injuries have been reported, but the extent of the injuries and the number of people injured have not been released at this time.

This incident remains under investigation, Bufford said.
