MCLEAN COUNTY – A vehicle from an Illinois Army National Guard convoy overturned on Interstate 55 on Thursday, resulting in minor injuries to the occupants.
Just before 12:30 p.m., troopers with the Illinois State Police responded to the crash, which was near mile marker 192 in northern McLean County. A vehicle was headed north on I-55 when it rolled over, but was turned upright on the right shoulder.
According to a guard spokesman, two Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All Terrain Vehicles were involved and both were assigned to the 233rd Military Police Company, which is based in Springfield. There were five or six of the vehicles in that part of the convoy, the state police said.

The guard spokesman said vehicles were headed north to Marseilles Training Center for weekend training. The guard said there were 130 soldiers, 15 tactical vehicles, two chartered buses and one car in the entire convoy.
The right lane was partially blocked by the M-ATV. This incident remains under investigation.
