NORMAL – The League of American Bicyclists acknowledged Normal for its continued efforts to make the town more bike-friendly.
A Town of Normal news release states that they were awarded a Bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) award. It is one of 480 communities recognized for their bike-friendly efforts.
“We appreciate this recognition honoring the Town for its commitment to creating transportation and recreational resources to benefit residents of all ages and abilities,” said
Town of Normal Planner Mercy Davison.
She continued, “We know our residents appreciate the availability of healthier and more sustainable transportation choices.”
58 new and renewing communities were honored in the latest round. The League of American Bicyclists Friendly America program sets the standards for the grading scale.
