BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington City Council members will vote Monday night on a 3.5% pay increase for City Manager Tim Gleason that would boost his annual salary to almost $210,000.
Gleason has been running the city government since 2018, and his performance reviews earned the highest ranking, exceeding expectations, according to a council report.
If aldermen approve the pay raise, Gleason’s base salary will be $209,224. His first year on the job, Gleason earned $185,000.
Before moving to Bloomington, Gleason was Decatur’s city manager and Washington’s city administrator.
Gleason is also a former Pekin Police officer, rising to the rank of lieutenant during his 21 years with that department.
