MCLEAN COUNTY – Three candidates have submitted applications to take over the role of State’s Attorney in McLean County. It comes as incumbent Don Knapp is set to take over as judge following the last election.
Ericka Reynolds from Heyworth, currently serves as the Assistant State’s Attorney in the county already. She also served in the same position in Woodford County.
Aaron Hornsby from Bloomington serves as the General Screening Prosecutor, who makes the decisions on the filing of criminal charges. He also has experience with criminal felony, juvenile delinquency, and traffic prosecution.
Erik Gibson serves as the current Assistant State’s Attorney in Woodford County. He’s also served as the Assistant State’s attorney in Knox county.
Candidate interviews will happen Monday. After that, County Board chairman John McIntyre will make a recommendation. A full board recommendation will follow on Thursday. Don Knapp will be sworn in as judge Friday.
