SPRINGFIELD – Gov. Pritzker urges Congress to act quickly to protect women’s reproductive rights.

According to the Democratic leader, Illinois has done its part to make sure women can choose health care options for themselves, and now federal lawmakers must do the same.

“This decision will not just take away people’s reproductive rights; it also threatens the right to birth control. It also threatens the right to marriage equality. It also threatens all of the precedents that have been established around privacy rights that were confided in Roe v. Wade.”

The Governor made his remarks at a Planned Parenthood Clinic in the metro-east area, where 75% of patients seeing care are from out of state.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
