BLOOMINGTON – According to GasBuddy, prices in the state are up two cents over the week, averaging $3.69 a gallon.
Gas prices in Illinois are 22 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 94 cents more expensive compared to this time last year.
GasBuddy price reports show the cheapest station in Illinois is priced at $3.08 while the most expensive is $4.39.
The national average is also up three cents over the week, averaging $3.51 a gallon.
“With tensions still very high that Russia may invade Ukraine, gasoline prices kept moving higher, tugged by the rising price of oil as the market concentrates on possible outcomes from the situation that could affect global oil production amidst recovering demand,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.
