BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington is receiving high praise from the American Heart Association for its workforce culture.
Earlier this month, the American Heart Association Workplace Health Achievement Index announced the City of Bloomington achieved the national Gold recognition.
“We are proud to achieve this recognition from the American Heart Association for prioritizing the health and well-being of our employees,” City Manager Tim Gleason said in a news release. “Our organization remains committed to supporting the physical and mental well-being of our workforce, promoting professional and personal growth.”
According to a news release, Bloomington was one of more than 450 organizations nationwide that completed the Index assessment, which measures the workforce’s culture of health and well-being.
Of the businesses that completed the assessment, 43% earned gold, 31% earned silver, and 19% earned bronze status.
The study provides a blueprint to a company’s aggregate employee heart health.
