BLOOMINGTON – An active weather pattern hit parts of central and southern Illinois on Sunday.
“Numerous reports of severe weather in the form of a few tornadoes as well as some wind damage and large hail,” said Freese-Notis meteorologist Dan Hicks.
“Locally heavy rainfall occurred across a large part of the Midwest. Here in Illinois, some rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches were fairly common, with a few lighter but also a few heavier amounts also reported,” Hicks said.
Tornadoes were reported Sunday near Jacksonville and Chester.
