MCHD reports 63 new cases of COVID-19; rolling positivity rate down to 1.8%

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County hospital beds are nearing capacity as local health officials report 63 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday.

According to the McLean County Health Department, local hospitals report 88% of ICU beds in use and 97% of total beds in use.

At last count, 18 McLean County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19, while 10 people are hospitalized in the county for the virus.

County officials report 298 people are isolated at home, while 22,227 people have been released from isolation and recovered.

The county’s cumulative positivity rate held steady at 4.3%, while the rolling 7-day positivity rate dropped to 1.8% from 2.4%.

There have been 267 COVID-related deaths in the county.

Approximately 191,307 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the county, and 54.99% of the population are fully vaccinated.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports 56.28% of Illinois residents are fully vaccinated.
