BLOOMINGTON – The Biden Administration is now allowing vaccinated international travelers, previously banned, into the United States.

Tim Davis, a central Illinois travel agent with Direct Travel, said the President’s decision is excellent news.

“I think that will break down some walls that have been out there. I think other countries have kinda been maybe retaliating a little bit and making it harder on us to travel overseas. This should be kind of a breakthrough thing that gets us all working together on a global level.”

According to CNBC, the Biden Administration requires foreign nationals to be vaccinated to enter the U.S. President Biden’s decision reverses course from President Trump, who had first issued the ban that applied to more than 30 countries in March 2020.

“What this hopefully, this is great news, and will hopefully lead to some consistency as we reopen the world and start traveling on a more regular basis,” Davis told WJBC’s, Scott Miller.

The airline industry across the country is required to collect and provide passenger information to aid contact tracing.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
