BLOOMINGTON – A man remains jailed on a high bond after a McLean County Grand Jury indicted him on charges he sexually assaulted a child.
Bond for Dashad Johnson, 21, is set at $1 million, meaning he has to come up with $100,000 cash to be released from the McLean County Jail.
A grand jury indicted Johnson in March following a Bloomington Police Department investigation, and he appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday on two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child younger than 13. Both charges are Class X felonies.
The charges allege Johnson committed the crimes in April 2017 and April 2018.
Johnson’s next court date is September 3.
