BLOOMINGTON – A Normal man in the McLean County Jail on attempted murder charges is facing new charges after striking a correctional officer in the face.
In late March, Normal Police charged Omarr Parks-Bullock, 18, of Normal, with two counts of attempted murder and aggravated battery by discharging a firearm.
Authorities say Parks-Bullock allegedly fired multiple shots, wounding a teenage boy in Building 4 of Northbrook Estates at 710 W. Orlando in Normal.
While in custody on the charges, Parks-Bullock allegedly punched a McLean County correctional officer in late June after when officers removed his physical restraints.
According to court records, authorities charged Parks-Bullock with another count of aggravated battery to a correctional officer.
Authorities say Parks-Bullock was scheduled to appear in court on different charges when a correctional officer removed his leg restraints.
Parks-Bullock allegedly stood up and lunged his head toward a correctional officer, striking them in the nose with his forehead.
Parks-Bullock is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 13 at 9:00 a.m. on the aggravated battery charges.
