BLOOMINGTON – No one was injured after a fire at a recycling yard in Bloomington on Tuesday.
Fire officials say a car was being moved into a trailer and then there was an explosion in the car, causing nearby garbage to catch on fire.
Bloomington Fire Department spokesperson Eric Davison says crews were called to the scene at Alter Metal Recycling at around 1:45 p.m. and the fire was out in around two hours.
No hazardous materials caught on fire.
