SPRINGFIELD – Now that the days of being cooped up are apparently over, the parks professionals want you to ditch the devices for at least a day.
Saturday is “Unplug Illinois” Day.
“It’s a day to get people throughout Illinois to take a break from their electronic devices and to plug in to all the fun and activities of their local parks and recreation agencies,” said Heather Weishaar, spokeswoman for the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association.
“We’ve heard a lot about Zoom fatigue and remote learning, and if we need a break, it’s definitely now – just to get a chance to get outside and enjoy all of the recreational opportunities that we all have right in our back yards here in Illinois.”
