SPRINGFIELD – For those of you wondering how your local congressman voted on the Liz Cheney matter … he didn’t.
According to Politico’s Illinois Playbook, both U.S. Reps. Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) and Darin LaHood (R-Dunlap) missed Wednesday’s vote to remove the Wyoming Congresswoman – and Trump critic – from House Republican leadership.
Davis said he was at another meeting that ran late but, as he put it, “I would have been there as a supporter of Liz.”
LaHood was also late and would not answer a question about how he would have voted. His office put out a statement thanking Cheney for her service.
The same story speculates as to their post-congressional careers, suggesting Davis might run for governor, LaHood for Illinois Supreme Court.
