SPRINGFIELD – One of the Pritzker administration’s proposed budgetary nip-and-tucks is not going over well with retailers.
Illinois Department of Revenue director David Harris said Illinois’ “vendors’ discount” is probably the nation’s most generous, but Illinois Retail Merchants Association president / CEO Rob Karr says that’s partly because the taxes are so high.
The governor’s office proposes the discount change from 1.75 percent to a $1000 monthly cap.
