MCHD analyzes COVID numbers with local hospitals, 25 residents hospitalized

BLOOMINGTON – As of Wednesday, local health officials said there were 61 McLean County residents in the hospital due to COVID. In Thursday’s update, that number dropped to 25.

The McLean County Health Department says it analyzed numbers this week with the two local hospitals. The health department says this audit allowed them to reconcile a number of hospitalized cases that had been discharged, but the information had not yet made it into the contact tracing database.

Local health officials Thursday reported 57 new cases of coronavirus. The county’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 5.2%.

90 additional people were released from isolation, now 16,757 are considered recovered.
