NORMAL – Heartland Community College will once again be offering in-person learning for students in the Heartland Academy for Learning Opportunities, or HALO, program.
After postponing enrollment and instruction in 2020 due to the pandemic, Heartland’s HALO program will be back on campus for the 2021 Fall Semester.
The HALO higher education experience is for students between the ages of 18 to 28 with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities as well as other learning challenges.
According to a press release, the program allows students to experience college while developing life skills.
Prospective students can apply anytime until mid-June.
