27 new coronavirus cases reported in McLean County

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County health officials Tuesday reported 27 new cases of COVID-19.

There are 24 McLean County residents in the hospital due to COVID and 160 are in home isolation. McLean County hospitals are reporting 69% of ICU beds and 90% of total beds in use.

McLean County’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 2.3%. 50 additional people were released from isolation, now 14,340 have recovered.

There have been 173 COVID-related deaths in the county.

COVID-19 Vaccine Update

Due to an additional shipment of vaccine, appointments for first-dose COVID-19 vaccines open Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. for the Saturday, March 13 clinic at Grossinger Motors Arena. MCHD expects more first-dose appointments to open for registration Thursday at 11:00 a.m. for clinics next week.

Residents may register online at https://health.mcleancountyil.gov/791/Vaccination-Clinics or (for those with no internet access) by calling the MCHD COVID-19 Call Center at (309) 888-5600 Monday-Friday 9am-4pm.

Over 41,000 doses have been administered in McLean County.
