Gas prices on the rise across the state

BLOOMINGTON – In the past week, gas prices in Illinois have climbed 4.8 cents per gallon, averaging $2.88 per gallon today.

GasBuddy.com’s daily survey shows prices are 28.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 48.6 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

Through the years, prices have been pretty steady – last year, we paid $2.40 per gallon on average. In 2016 we paid $1.88 at the pump, and in 2012 we dug deep to hand over $3.93 on average per gallon of gas.
