Normal – Even with coronavirus numbers holding steady and the rollout of the vaccine – events in Uptown Normal will most likely be on hold through July. That’s according to Normal Civic Arts Manager Adam Fox.
“Pretty sure we aren’t doing anything through July just because of where things are at right now and the need to start planning these events, we’d already be months into planning for anything that would happen prior to July,” Fox told WJBC’s Scott Miller.
“We know that in Uptown the large events and festivals that close down streets, those great street fairs we love doing out there, those probably aren’t going to happen for a little while,” Fox said.
Fox said town officials are still trying to work some events onto the calendar, but there is still a lot of uncertainty due to COVID-19.
Last week, the town and McLean County Arts Center announced a date in early October for the Sugar Creek Arts Festival, though, things could change due to the ongoing pandemic.
