8 additional COVID-related deaths reported in McLean County

BLOOMINGTON – Local health officials Tuesday reported eight more coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the number of lives lost in McLean County to 160.

The McLean County Health Department says those who passed away include a woman in her 50s not associated with long term care as well as a woman in her 80s, a woman in her 90s, and five men in their 90s who were all associated with long-term care facilities.

The health department announced 39 new cases. There are 18 McLean County residents hospitalized due to COVID and 314 are in home isolation.

The county’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 4.2%, which is above the statewide rate of 3.3%.

70 additional people were released from isolation, now  13,665 have recovered.
