“For the staff here at the health department it’s been a long year and they’ve been working tirelessly for the last year,” McKnight told WJBC’s Scott Miller. “So when we get those notes of appreciation or people voicing their appreciation it really does go a long way. We know the public is very frustrated right now and we are frustrated that we can’t do more.”
McKnight says people should continue to check the health department’s website for vaccine information and new appointments will be added on Thursday’s.
Over 19,000 vaccines have been administered in the county. The state is averaging around 51,000 shots per day.
