BLOOMINGTON – A lot of people are anxious and tired due to the ongoing pandemic. That includes Dr. Ngozi Ezike.
The director of the state’s public health department says some people are frustrated with the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine, but state health officials are trying their best to make the process easier. Ezike told WJBC’s Scott Miller one issue is the lack of vaccines, and we need more from the federal government.

“It has been a long, long journey and we want this vaccine yesterday, we all do,” Ezike told WJBC’s Scott Miller. “I don’t know how I can fix that situation. All I can do is make sure that we get the vaccine that we have into the arms of people.”
Ezike is directing residents to coronavirus.illinois.gov to get information about vaccine locations and eligibility or the McLean County Health Department’s website.
Across the state, around 36,000 doses are being administered each day. There have been over 9,500 shots administered in McLean County.
