Positivity rate climbs above 13%; McLean County adds 136 new cases

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County health officials Thursday announced the rolling positivity rate is 13.8%, a new high since the start of the pandemic.

The county added 136 new coronavirus cases, as 1,281 people are isolating at home. There are 17 McLean County residents currently hospitalized due to COVID, but local hospitals are reporting 81% of ICU beds in use and 93% of total beds in use.

“We continue to urge the public to take steps to protect themselves, their communities, and people who are at increased risk of severe illness,” said MCHD Administrator Jessica McKnight.

115 additional people were released from isolation, now 7,551 have recovered. There have been 58-COVID related deaths in the county.
