WJBC has teamed up with the Child Protection Network for a Day of Giving for McLean County CASA – keep reading to find out how you can get involved!
Join us Tuesday, December 1st for the Day of Giving with Child Protection Network to support McLean County CASA. We are asking for your help in collecting donations to change a child’s story. Your donation will help fund trained volunteers and their endeavors to provide advocacy to children in the foster system and children who are victims of abuse.
There are two easy ways to participate:
- Help fill the permanency bags by purchasing select items at the Gingerbread House – that wishlist is HERE
- Make an electronic donation today – online donations can be made HERE
Permanency Bags are provided to children by the CASA’s so that they can move their belongings from house to house and do not have to use garbage bags, pillowcases, etc. Items from the wishlist provide the children with toys and items they may otherwise not be able to afford. When you purchase items off the Gingerbread House “Day of Giving” wishlist those items will be included in permanency bags.
The Child Protection Network team is hosting a drive-thru drop-off event on December 1st from 6am – 7pm at Carle Health and Fitness Center (1111 Trinity Ln in Bloomington). Volunteers will be on-site collecting cash or check donations, electronic donations, and items from the wishlist above.
The McLean County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Program trains community volunteers to advocate for McLean County abused and neglected children who have been removed from their biological family and placed into foster care. They are dedicated to to making a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children from our community through volunteer advocacy.
