167 new COVID cases in McLean County; Positivity rate above 9%

BLOOMINGTON – The rolling seven-day positivity rate in McLean County is now 9.2%, the highest it has been in nearly two months.

The county’s positivity rate is still below the rate in Region 2, sitting at 13.2% as of Monday. The statewide rolling positivity rate is 11.4%.

McLean County added 167 new cases of coronavirus Tuesday, bringing the total number of confirmed and probable cases to 5,675, according to the McLean County Health Department.

There are 10 people currently hospitalized and 1,034 are isolating at home.

“We continue to see an increase in new cases and our positivity rate,” said MCHD Administrator Jessica McKnight. “MCHD will continue to work diligently to follow-up with those who test positive, however if you test positive for COVID-19 do not wait to hear from the Health Department to begin your isolation.”

88 additional people were released from isolation, now 4,590 are considered recovered. There have been 41 COVID-related deaths in the county.
